Workmanship Standards and Instruction for the Soldering & Rework of Through-Hole and Surface Mount Components.

Course Description:

A 12-hour session comprised of 6 hours lecture with video and overheads, and 6 hours hands on training. Course content covers Through-Hole and Surface Mount Technologies including fine pitch devices. The lecture provides a brief overview of SPC, IPC-A-610, ESD precautions, soldering techniques, flux considerations and video presentations on the proper use and maintenance of solder and desolder stations. In the hands-on session, each student is provided with a mixed technology board to assemble and an individual workstation. With close instructor supervision, students will learn techniques for the installation and removal of through-hole and surface mount components and how to properly evaluate solder joints. The course utilizes JBC and Hakko Solder and Desolder Stations, using a variety of different style tips for installation and removal of components.

This course is offered at our Oroville, CA and Plano, Tx facilities or the customers facility.  A minimum charge of $10,000.00 for 10 students or less applies to courses given at the customers facility.  Travel expenses are additional if we are required to travel further that 70 miles from our facilities.
